White Ash is the wood that we get from the Appalachian Mountains. It is a hard wood and still is in use making baseball bats. The one very big downside is that there is a bug called the Emerald Ash Borer that is killing these trees. I am making an educated guess that in 5 to 10 years, we will not be able to get any more beautiful Ash boards.
Ash is similar in appearance to White Oak but has a slightly more prominent grain pattern. We offer the boards in a lighter shade which I call Blond or it can come in a Blond and Brown combination (the second coloration has a more rustic feel about it.)
